Visit me at one of several S-W Ontario Antique Markets. Where To Find Us
Charles W. Manzell, of Buffalo, NY, patented this tool on 17-October 1916 – the era of the Model T Ford. The screw on handle would be filled with grease. By rotating the handle, grease would be driven out through a small aperture at the apex of the wedge. The wedge could be driven between leaf springs with a hammer.
It is a great design for its intended purpose and well-made. Im surprised it’s the first one I have come across.
