Cheney Patented Claw Hammer

The Cheney Patent Hammer was quite ingenious. Two spring-loaded ball bearings were designed to capture nail heads. The nails were started into the wood by taking the first hammer-swing backwards.
This example appears to be in good condition. The ball bearings and springs are in place and it doesn't appear like the side-screw has been loosened.
